Commissioned portrait of Heinrich Heine a German poet and humanitarian painted at the Wacom office. I tried to incorporate the transition between classic ink (see reference for fountain pen in face) and the digital ink that Wacom uses (see swathes of ink bush strokes in background). For this mural I had to use a painting from around 1820 as a reference which was a challenge as there are some proportions within the painting that i feel are not accurate, but I decided the original work should be leading.
