Mural made at the library of Bernheze for the Bernhezer kunstkring. This is the third wall made for my art route in Bernheze so far.
The girl you see painted is based on a photo I took earlier that year in Oaxaca, Mexico during a local festival named fiesta de las piñas.

The portrait is painted in full colour whilst using the colours as a grey scale value to match a realistic image when transferred to black and white. This way I know the use of brightness and saturation of the image is in balance. You could also see it as a metaphor to “how is your outlook on society”. Do you see humanity as black/white or is the world richer when you embrace the full spectrum”?
