This mural painted for Writersblock muralfest in the North of the Netherlands is inspired by my travels to Mexico where I portrayed this man in Oaxaca. This region of Mexico holds a great history with distilling mezcal. A spirit made by hard labour and decennia of craft and traditions which gives an extra layer to the soul of the agave plant which I had the pleasure of discovering on my travel to Mexico.
During this trip I have been taking photos of indigenous inhabitants in an attempt to catch the essence of Mexico’s subcultures.
I would like to extend my gratitude to Peter and Serge and the Writersblock crew for the subliminal organisation and care. You smashed it guys and gals! It was a great pleasure meeting all the artists who made it a even better experience
